Let me extend to you my personal welcome to our AutismOne Social Network. AutismOne is now the “one-stop-shopping center” for information about autism. We have the annual conference in Chicago, AutismOne radio, the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy and now the AutismOne Social Network (and more to come).
Thank you for filling in your profile entries as these help people with common interests find you.
Helping you interact with others is one of the many things we can do for you. Now here’s something you can do for us. Log in on a regular basis and read the blogs and articles then write a blog yourself. It can be on any subject of interest to you, preferably with some relevance to autism but not necessarily. It can be short or long, whatever it takes for you to express your thoughts. If you have a question then ask it in a blog--people read then they respond. If you see something with which you agree or disagree then please add a comment with your thoughts. This is an open community designed to help and support. We like to hear all sides.
I am looking forward to reading your opinions in future blogs and/or articles.
With my best regards

I wanted to welcome you to the Autism One.
By becoming an active participant you can support and inspire others. Your sharing experience can lift other parents to help them move forward on this path. Autism can be challenging and puzzling. You can make a difference; together we can effectively resolve issues in a collaborative manner by addressing questions and providing feedback.
My son Jordan has made remarkable progress so please don’t ever give up hope!
Feel free to share your thoughts, stories and wisdom for we are all in this together.
To quote, Brandi Snyder: “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.”
Should you need any further assistance or information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

A Little About Me:

I'm a Mom of two boys. My youngest son has Autism. Autism has became my passion and we are a family that's heavily involved in Autism Issues and Awareness. We do biomedical treatment and have a wonderful DAN Doctor who we simply adore. She has helped make my ASD childs life so much better. My son has an in home VB (Verbal Behavior) Program for his educational needs. I love networking and meeting new families and professionals that may be involved in Autism.
I hope to be furthering my education sometime this year, so I can help people affected by Autism and bring them hope as well as support.

Why I am a Part of the AutismOne Community:

My youngest child, age 9 was diagnosed with Autism at age 2 1/2 years. It has became my lifes passion and I am always interested in learning new ideas and treatments regarding Autism. I hope to meet many new people through this site.

What I am Here For:
To learn about new ideas and treatments re: Autism.
Autism Help / Accomplishments:

I help operate a local non profit Autism Support Group in my area, for families and professionals.

My Daily Motivations:

Watching my ASD son Noah, master new things and watch his success unfold. He is such an inspiration to me. I might also add, he makes my life have true meaning.

Goals:
My goal is to have my son RECOVERED from Autism one day, so he can lead a successful life among his peers, be more accepted in this crazy world we live in, and be able to live a normal productive life.
Help Needed:
I could sure use support from other families, advice, tips on biomedical treatments. What I would love to learn, is ways to fund Autism treatments I want for my child, as well as be informed of services I might not be aware of.
Help to Give:

I feel I can offer hope, insight, and pieces of advice. I know how overwhelming it can be for a family when they first get that diagnosis of Autism. If I can help brighten someone's life in any way possible, I will feel very blessed.

Activities:
I love attending Conferences, workshops, trainings, anything to do with Autism. Don't have much leisure time, or what most may refer to as "ME TIME". Hopefully one day that will change.
Hobbies:
Love to take pictures, do scrapbooking, road trips, cooking. Love many types of music. Music makes my spirits lift.
Quotes:
Quitting is NOT an option. I'm here for the long haul!
TV Shows:
Big Bang Theory, ABC Soaps, Cougar Town, Old episodes of FRIENDS
Movies:
The Time Travelers Wife
Personal Heroes:
My Dad. I lost him in 1992 to cancer, and he was such a big part of my life. He instilled values and qualities in me that I will always carry with me throughout my life. I miss him dearly and regret that he never had the chance to be a part of Noah's life and a part of our Autism Journey. I know he would have moved heaven and earth to help me.
